In his studio

"November 2009 was a month which was opened a new way in my life as exiled: Germany took us under his protection". At his home in Berlin, Germany, 2010.
"Berlin has been a wonderful place. It has a lot of historical connections and secrets with Havana". In the study of the German PEN Club apartment, where he lived three years, Berlin, Germany, 2006-2009.
"Living for six months in the House of the German Heinrich Böll Nobel Prize meant a reencounter with the readings that I did in Cuba of that writer," Langenbroich, Germany, March to August 2006.

"Thanks to the friendship with Cuban singer Graciela Perez, put my studio in his apartment in Perseverance Street, under the house of my wife." Havana,Cuba, 2002-2004.
"In another house (the house of my wife Berta Medina), also without space, I set up my books and computer next to the building's water tank", Havana, Cuba, 2000.
"I managed to write in a closed closet above the bathroom in my house. I had no other space to do it", Havana, Cuba, 1997.
